For the next five days after the opening of “Donbass Odyssey” we have done five city interventions in Kyiv. We wanted to mark the changes in the city which occurred in the last couple of years, such as the fact that new people and together with them - new places, have appeared in Kyiv. Each day we went into a different district. We announced our locations in advance on our facebook page fb.com\odyssey.donbass. We walked around a certain district and looked for metal surfaces, to which we stuck our maps and left magnets on top of them. In the end we happened to find very interesting and unexpected locations from a big street work-out box in Obolon to a pedestrian bridge, that goes to a Trukhaniv island.
In order to stick our maps in some places we had to interact with kiosk venders, owners of car garages or a boat station. This way we found new friends of “Donbass Odyssey”, who were interested to hear about the project and helped us in sharing it with others. We also spontaneously interacted with people, who were passing by and showed their interest. It was great to meet people, who followed us on Facebook and intentionally showed up at a certain place to see the maps and take a magnet. We are extremely grateful to everybody who joined “Donbass Odyssey” and us in this journey!
